FAMILY FITNESS PLAN

Being active does not have to cost a lot of money to
activate the family!
-
Schedule
a regular time throughout the week for physical activity for the whole
family.

Take
turns selecting an activity for the family to do as a group each week,
such as a walks or bicycle ride to your local park.

Start
a log of daily fitness activities for each family member.

Help
everyone to find something active that they enjoy and feel successful
at.

Be
open to modify all activities to suit those with special needs, and
preferences, or limitations.

Limit
time spent watching television programs, videotapes, and playing
computer games.

Use
physical activity rather than candy as a reward (e.g. family goes
in-line skating, visits a park, go indoor swimming, walking, etc.).

Include
the whole family and friends- grandparents, other relatives, and other
friends or neighbors whenever possible.

Spend
as much time outdoors as possible while the weather is nice
